It’s been a hectic few weeks here at Crown. We’ve been busy re-working the website to make it sleeker and more interactive. If you haven’t had a chance to explore it fully, I encourage you to check it out. We have lots of articles, news, photos, videos and training tips for our readers, as well as a great chat forum. With your support we can turn this into the premier online basketball community for Canada!
Crown is also busy preparing for an exciting event. For those of you who haven’t heard, the 9th Annual All Canada Classic, presented by PHASE1, will be running from June 5th to 7th at Seneca College. Come out and watch Canada’s best players participate in competitive games and contests. There will also be a banquet on Sunday to wrap up the weekend. Check out our Latest News section for more info.
I’ve been enjoying the NBA Playoffs so far, especially the Conference Finals. I think the Lakers are the team to beat. When you have the best player on the planet it really helps. That’s right, I think Kobe is better than LeBron! But the real question mark with them is Lamar Odom. When he’s on his game, he’s the x-factor that puts the Lake Show over the top. When he’s not, they struggle. Plain and simple. Of course, it doesn’t help that Derek Fisher and Shannon Brown both think they’re Reggie Miller in his prime. Stop chucking up bricks!
A lot of people are on Cleveland’s bandwagon, but that team has two problems. First of all, they depend too much on LeBron. If he’s erratic, the whole team unravels. Their match-up with Orlando has also proved that they don’t match up well against long, athletic teams. I wouldn’t mind seeing an upset in either series, but the Nuggets and Magic are young teams and will have plenty of chances in the future.
