2012 Thunder Jam Set To Be A Great One
Published by Gilbert Muako on January 31, 2012
The Etobicoke Thunder Jam Boys Junior (U19) Tournament will be held from March 24th 25th, 2012 in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario. CROWN is proud to be an official partner of the event, and will be providing extensive coverage leading up to and during the weekend.
As an 20-team, fully-sanctioned OBA event, the tournament will feature two divisions: a 8-team AA+ division, and a 12-team Elite division. With both divisions having filled, the draw for the weekend’s 31 games looks very strong. The Elite division will see some of the top teams in the province come to Etobicoke to compete in the season’s first major event, including: Etobicoke Thunder Elite, Oakville Venom, Durham City Bulldogs, Mississauga Monarchs, Ottawa Next Level, Waterloo Wildhawks, Burlington Skyhawks, and Blessed Sacrament Yellow Jackets, among others.
Some of the top players in the 2012 and 2013 classes will also be featured, including: Jamal Reynolds, Grant Mullins, Jovan Leamy, Trevon McNeil, Matthew Beckford, Patrick Street, Matthew Taylor, Mitch Farrell, Donnavan Hastings, Nolan Mackenzie, Myles Charvis, Reilly Reid, Jason Quiring, Regis Ivaniukas, Josh Codinera, Matt Ravida, Mackenzie Morrison, Cudjoe Masuka, Henry Bankazo, and many others.
The tournament “atmosphere” looks to once again be first-class, and several CIS and CCAA coaches have committed to attending the tournament once again this year. Admission is FREE for all spectators, so be sure to mark this weekend down if you want to catch some high level basketball.
Look out for the Thunder Jam official draw coming soon!
