Cory Joseph-6’2-PG-(2010) – Canada Select: Since making the move down south, you can tell that Joseph has taken advantage of the intense basketball program at Findlay Prep(Nevada). Joseph has significantly improved his speed, quickness, jumping and especially his ball handling. Joseph makes the game look really easy with his smooth handles and crisp passes. He has a terrific pull up jumper with good arc on it, and he often performs a jab step before creating for himself or a teammate. He’s a good passer but can flat out score ball when needed to. It’s rare you see a good offensive player be as passionate on the defensive end as Joseph is.

Alister Chisholm – 6’4 – SF– (2009) – Upper Room Ambassadors: After Cory Joseph, the player that stood out the most was Chisholm. Very aggressive on the boards, Chisolm will grab a rebound and push it coast to coast for a bucket or make a play for others. Chisholm plays with a great amount of energy, never gives up on a play and always follows his shot for second chance basket. He is also a very good rebounder for his height. This unsigned senior performs like a smaller Antoine Walker, but must really look improve his outside shooting. Overall, he is a solid talent.

Anthony Bennett – 6’7 – SF/PF – (2012) – HYPE: This athletic forward has great length and is a true talent. He’s nicknamed “ROBO” for a reason: Bennett has great upper body strength and is fearsome when bodying up opponents. Bennett plays with an aggression; he will attack the basket with two dribble penetration from just inside the three point line and finish strong. He pleased the crowd at this event with his monstrous dunks in traffic. Bennett’s one the top rising Canadian prospects. You can count on hearing more about this special talent in the near future.

Richard Peters – 6’10 – F/C – (2012) – Canada Select: Oklahoma saw potential in this young man as he recently committed to the Sooners. Off the bat, the first thing you notice is the fact that Peters has bulked up since making the move down south. He showed off a smooth midrange shot, rebounded well at both ends of the floor, but for 6’10” (tallest player in the event) his presence wasn’t felt enough. Peters is young and still learning the game offensively, but he is major prospect with great potential and has three high school seasons left to improve his skills before putting on an OU jersey.

Honorable Mention

Jamal Pryce – 5’11 – PG- (2011) – Upper Room Ambassadors: Pryce was really impressive in the championship win, and he truly held his own in the point guard battle against highly recruited Cory Joseph.

Dinjiyl Walker – 6’0” – PG– (2012) – Mississauga Wolverine: A sharp shooter behind the arc, Walker also demonstrated his all-around skills by putting the ball on floor and creating his own shot. He’ll need to continue improving his ball handling.

Troy Grant – 6’2 – Combo Guard (2012) – Mississauga Wolverine: Grant has improve his all around game, and will be a really good player if he keeps putting in the work.
