Junior Cadougan, the 6’2 PG out of Toronto, Ontario is the top Canadian recruit of the 2009 class and will be playing in the Big East conference for Marquette in September.

Although most high school prospects have great potential and much to improve on while in the NCAA, Cadougan, believe it or not is already as polished of a point guard as it gets at his level. While playing his high school ball at Christian Life Center Academy in Humble, Texas; Cadougan has managed to make great strides over the years, especially with his weight.

Weighing in at 220 lbs. last September, JC has shed a substantial amount off his body, currently at a cool 198lbs making him much quicker and agile. Speaking to him after the PHASE 1 All Canada Classic, (which he dominated) he expressed, “Man I gotta get home and rest. This P90X program is killing me.” It has clearly paid off; although his physique is on the heavier side, still comparable to the elite PG’s of the NCAA or even NBA. (Slight exaggeration) He will be testing his progress in September with the Golden Eagles.
Junior will be a player that Coach Buzz Williams could insert into the rotation immediately; especially with senior guards Wesley Matthews, Jerel McNeal and Dominic James moving on.
A decisively quick guard, Cadougan has superior abilities when it comes to attacking the rim and finishing plays with contact. Stronger than smaller guards and quicker than taller ones, Junior will make an instant impact for Buzz Williams and the Golden Eagles.
To top it off, Cadougan is a born leader with a calm and conservative swagger that is motivating for himself and teammates.

When it comes to the next level…he’s ready.
