Rathan-Mayes, Findlay and Robinson Selected for Prestigious Carolina Camp
Published by Michael Henry on March 26, 2011
In a move that has raised the status of many in the past, Toronto’s Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Tevin Findlay (2013 – AAU: Team Takeover Canada) and Jordan Robinson (2014 - AAU: Team Takeover Canada) have each received invitations to the 2011 Dave Telep Carolina Challenge.
Rathan-Mayes (6’2″, 180lbs) , has recently been reclassified to 2014 and has been on the radar of many high major programs. He will be joined by fellow Canadians Findlay(6’3″, 175lbs) and Robinson (6’8″, 235lbs) whose Quality Education Academy Prep squad was ranked by some as #1 in the state of North Carolina.
Along with the showcase games the camp attendees play, information sessions are given about various aspects of the game as well as the recruiting process including the truth about grades, transferring, and how many people really make it on to the next level.
Dave Telep, the namesake of the camp, is a Senior College Basketball Recruiting Analyst for ESPN. Now in its 5 year, the camp is quickly becoming the ‘must attend’ event taking place in Raleigh, for North Carolina based players. It leaves the current graduating Class (2011) off of the list of invitees. This exposes the fruit in the game of undergraduates, identifying which ones may be ripe for the pickings of the many University and College representatives that will undoubtedly be in attendence. This premier event has boasted attendees such as John Wall, Seth Curry, C.J Leslie, Miles and Mason Plumlee.
