Kyle Wiltjer and Kevin Pangos have both been named to the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit World roster. Both players, 2011 high school graduates, will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in the annual basketball game taking place April 9, 2011 in the Rose Garden in Portland Oregon.
Wiltjer, who has dual citizenship between Canada and the U.S. will be playing this premier event in the same city as the Jesuit High School in which he currently attends. Wiltjer is a 6’9″ Power Forward who has been averaging over 19 points per game and close to 8 rebounds per game throughout his senior year has recently committed to Kentucky.
Kevin Pangos is coming off of a 2011 3A provincial silver medal, senior season at Dr Denison High School in Newmarket. The 6’1″ Guard, has committed to play at Gonzaga for the 2011-2012 season, and add to a marquee resume that includes the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic International Game. “It’s an honour to be representing Canada in such an event and i am excited to have such a great opportunity to play with and against great players, will definitely be a memorable experience that i will remember forever” said Pangos of the selection.
The Canadian content does not stop with these two fine players. Coaching the World Team will be none other than Roy Rana, who headed Canada’s FIBA U17 World Championship team to a bronze medal. Rana, who has five years of Canadian national team involvement, also coached in the Nike Global Challenge multiple times.

Best player on that team is Dario BY FAR

I haven’t seen much game tape on Dario. What makes his game so good?

Just hits over all game. He isn’t selfish at all, he sees the floor and can score at any time. He is also super long, pause, and he can defend anyone from a center to a guard. He is a 94′ so he will be one of the youngest guys there and I predict that he finishes as a top scorer in most games.

Since you’ve pointed him out Real, I’ve continued to do some extra research on Dario. It seems he is young and his game is still a bit unpolished. He does have tremendous upside, but still struggles with decision making under pressure. In a Eurobasket U16 game vs Lithuania he turned the ball over 12 times (mind you, he also scored 30pts, 11rbs and 11ast in that game too, which speaks to your point). It will be interesting to see how he changes up his game to handle this adversity.
