Petar Rusic
Published by CROWN staff on June 18, 2009
Class: 2013
Position: Shooting Guard
Height: 6’3
School: Loyola, (Oakville, Ontario)

Petar Rusic is a 6’3 shooting guard with all indications of a pure shooter; great form, follow through and range. He recently completed his freshman season playing as a senior at Loyola secondary where he led his squad to a successful season, while averaging 17 ppg, 5rpg and 4 aspg. Remember, Rusic is doing this with only 1 year of high school basketball under his belt. Petar also helped lead his club team, Mississauga Monarchs to a bronze medal at the Ontario Cup tournament.
Rusic can be a nightmare for opposing teams when he heats up, as he can stretch the defense with his seemingly unlimited range. However, an off night could lead him to questionable shot selection. Petar must learn to pick his spots to increase his efficiency and also improve his dribble-drvie penetration. Growth is expected for Rusic within the next few years, which will only elevate his game. In the mean time, he must increase his versatility on the offensive by adding more moves off the bounce. Rusic is definetely a talent to look out for, as he is among the top players in his class and should remain so with continuous development.
