“GREAT TIME” In Kentucky For Wiggins And Rathan-Mayes

Two of the most sought after Canadians in their respective class decided to take a visit to Kentucky yesterday. Andrew Wiggins the top 2014 prospect and Xavier Rathan-Mayes a top 2013 guard were in the Rupp Arena to catch possibly the biggest NCAA basketball game of the year out side of the March Madness.

The two best friends and teammates at Huntington Prep witnessed the battle between number one ranked Wildcats and number five UNC that came right down to the wire with Kentucky pulling out the one point win as Anthony Davis blocked UNC’s possible game winner.

After their time in Lexington, KY, CROWN caught up with both guys for a brief comment. And by the look of things, it was a time well spent.”Great time”, said Xavier Rathan-Mayes. ” Great atmosphere, amazing fans… Just UK is a great place too be! Could definitely see myself there one day and that’s important!”

Wiggins had similar feelings. ”Very intense game”, he said. “Great experience, amazing fans and just amazing atmosphere.”

The Wildcats are just one of many high majors programs coming after these two stars. UNC, Duke, Syracuse, Florida State, Kansas are tracking Wiggins. While the likes UCONN, Illinois, Arizona, Florida State, Memphis and NC State amongst others are in the running for Rathan-Mayes.

There’s no secret that the two are close like brothers and have spoke very serious about possibly going to school together. Both their fathers are Florida State alumnis.

Makes an interesting ride to see how receruiting will transpire for these guys as time goes.

Great time in Lexington, KY, but its back to business on the court for these two. Huntington Prep Express takes on Marietta College today, December 4, 2011 at 3PM as the Express continue their road to a National championship.
