Jankovic Goes With The Tigers
Published by Ali Ahmed on October 28, 2011
Another top-tier prospect has been taken off the board in the class of 2012. Stefan Jankovic (6’10, F, Huntington Prep) has officially committed to the Missouri Tiger. The 6’10 power forward had been highly recruited by several major D1 schools including Purdue, Georgetown, Florida State, Missouri, and Wake Forest.
Jankovic was extremely impressed with the program while on his visit. He described the visit as nothing less than remarkable.
“I felt real comfortable on my visit. I had a great relationship with the coaching staff and players and in general I really felt at home.”
Jankovic is a hybrid forward that is a matchup problem game in and game out. His long-range shooting touch forces bigger forwards out of their comfort zone allowing his teammates to have more space down low. He uses his length to create plays for himself under the net and uses his finesse moves to finish baskets in bunches. If Jankovic can polish his inside game and handle contact under the rim, Missouri has landed themselves a big pick up.
Jankovic currently attends Huntington Prep (Huntington, WV) and is on a roster dominated by other top ranked Canadian prospects; Andrew Wiggins (6’7, F, 2014), Negus Webster-Chan (6’6, G, 2012 – Missouri Commit), Xavier Rathan-Mayes (6’3, G, 2013), and Tanveer Bhullar (7’2, C, 2013).
With his recruitment out the way Jankovic has his full attention on a national Championship. Huntington Prep tips off their season with an home opener this saturday against Next Level Prep from.
