Mac keeps It Rolling With Another Commit

Published by on February 23, 2011

McMaster University lands big man Nathan McCarthy out of Notre Dame High School from Burlington. Having already picked up 6-foot-5 forward Brett Sanders, 6-foot-4 guard Aaron Redpath, 6-foot-3 shooting guard Joe Rocca and 6-foot-2 Guard Adam Presutti, McMaster has not shyed away from grabbing yet another blue-chip recruit.

It came down to a decision between York U, Western, Waterloo, Guelph and McMaster for 6-foot-7 PF Nathan McCarthy. In the end, with Mac’s credentials academically, top notch facility and a strong incoming class, strongly influenced McCarthy’s decision.

When asked about his recent visit to the McMaster campus Nathan came away very impressed. “Went on my tour and the facilities were great, best in the country, Amos Connelly the head coach is a great guy and made me feel very welcome. I want to play on a good team and really want to be a part of a national championship contender. I feel like McMaster has made those steps to do so and im just glad to be apart of it.

When asked about next years season, Nathan insists on making an impact right away, “Looking to make an impact next year especially in the post with fellow bigs Scott Brittain and Taylor Black”. Nathan will be studying Geography. McMaster arguably has the best recruiting class in the country thus far, and adding Nathan is a nice final piece to this 5-piece recruiting puzzle that instantly will have Mac in national spotlight next season.
