Nastic Heading To The Pac 10
Published by Gilbert Muako on February 1, 2010
The biggest news over the weekend was the commitment of one of Canada’s premier bigs. Stefan Nastic is a 6-foot-10 220-lbs Center out of Thornhill Secondary school in Thornhill, on.
The talented Serbian born big man decided to compete in the Pac 10 conference, with his commitment to Stanford University.
It seems Stanford truly had their eyes set on some Canadian talent, as Nastic becomes the second Canadian big in the Stanford Cardinals 2010 recruiting class, joining multi talented Center Dwight Powell.
Standing 6-foot-10 Nastic displays great skills at his size and demonstrates the kind of basketball intelligence that any coach would appreciate in a young player.
The 17-year old already has solid experience playing in the Serbian national team and had also landed offers from programs such as Duke, Maryland amongst others.

Does Nastic plan on playing for team canada as well?

He’ll do well there.
He’ll be well coached by Head Coach Johnny Dawkins (formerly Duke). But his position coach will be former Santa Clara Head Coach **** Davey who recruited and coached Canada’s Steve Nash. He had several other Canadian guys at SCU and can really help big men.
There is no doubt he will play for Team Canada in the off-season just like Andy Rautins and the other Canadian kids who are playing in the NCAA.
This is a win win for him AND he’ll get a great education.
Congrats!
