Rivard Finds His Place
Published by Gilbert Muako on November 5, 2009
One of the finest talent from Quebec has decided where he’ll end up after his high school career, class of 2010 Shooting Guard Laurent Rivard gave Harvard a verbal commitment this past tuesday.
Originally from St. Bruno in Montréal, Rivard is 6-foot-5 guard with a strong body and excellent outside shooting. He was major contributor this past summer for the Canadian junior national team coached by Greg Francis.
Rivard who attends Northfield- Mt. Hermon School (MA), choose Harvard over Bucknell, and Georgia Tech.
“I liked my visit to Georgia Tech but I opted for a place where I could get more playing time, because I think that being on the court and getting game experience is the best way to get better,” Rivard told CROWN.
“I was looking for a great academic school but most importantly a place where I could play right away and have an impact as a freshman.”
