Ryerson Wins Big, By Landing Ryan Evans
Published by Gilbert Muako on January 24, 2011
It’s a great Day for Ryerson University, landing a talented big man that will play a major role in their program for years to come. Earl Of March star Ryan Evans, a 6-foot-10 center out of Ottawa has committed to the Rams in the coming fall.
Speaking on his commitment Evans says, “I chose Ryerson because I have a good relationship with all the coaches and players; also its an up and coming team that i’d like to be a part of… I think I can help them next year in the post.”
Evan is a physical post player, he is extremely tough around the basket, especially on the defensive end where he blocks shots, attacks the rebound with force and runs the floor well.
The Rams won the recruiting battle over schools such as St. Francis, Carleton, York, and Ottawa U, who where all vying for Evans’ service.
Evans felt he had already built trust and a strong relationship with Roy Rana during the time he played for the Cadet team.
“I’ve known coach [Roy] Rana for 2 years now; he coached me in Argentina with team Canada so I like his coaching style and I think he can really help me develop.”
