Things Heating up: Nastic picking up offers from big time programs
Published by CROWN staff on November 9, 2009
Center, Stefan Nastic of Thornhill Secondary School in Ontario, is attracting major basketball programs.
Nastic has picked up offers from both Duke and Maryland, two powerhouse NCAA schools.
The 6’10 native of Serbia, not only possesses a strong skill set, but also has more top-level playing experience than many of his peers. The 17-year-old spent the summer of 2008 playing with the Serbian National Team, which gave Stefan a great opportunity to learn first-hand playing with one of the worlds most elite squads.
On the Canadian scene, Stefan has proven to be a handful for opponents. Establishing himself as a star while playing for Thornhill, he also took his game to the next level with CIA Bounce, one of Canada’s premier AAU teams and his Toronto Five-0 OBA team coached by Vlad Matevski, who has played a major role in Nastics’ ever improving game.
Aside from his obvious rebounding and shot blocking abilities due to his size, Stefan also has a great touch around the net and demonstrates a high basketball IQ with his unselfish play, passing skills and ability to lead the fast break.
While it isn’t unusual for a Canadian to receive lots of attention from NCAA teams, the caliber of teams pursuing Nastic, such as Duke and Maryland, are definitely noteworthy.
Expect more schools to come knocking by the end of the 2009-2010 campaign.

Watsup ballers and gentlemen,
this is your boi C-sqaured, cory capland aka “the jewish jordan 2.0″ aka “the unibomber” aka “c-money freshy stank”.
I’d like to take this opportunity to holler at all them D-1 coaches out there and tell them that this kid is for real. He’s the most coveted prospect since the one and only Len Bias (god bless his soul, RIP).
There is simply nothing he cant do. A sexy little baby hook. A turnaround jimothy. More hops than a case of your finest swiss lager. The kid can flat out ball like its his nine to five.
His IQ? unmatched. His defense? Impenetrable. The kid just wins. Doesnt matter if its ball, checkers, limp bizkit. Like Yogi Berra, Tim Duncan, etc- he wins the damn game.
The fact is: When future generations of ballers look back on us from the great, grave distance of time, and seek to judge us for who weare and what we’ve done; when our descendants search for themselves in us, and ask how humanity rose to meet its fate across the ages; and when they hear our voices calling out to them through the howling vastness of the years, they will discover in a single defining cultural moment everything they so desperately seek….Stefan Nastic is that moment.
That one shining moment.

every coach wants to recruit a European but no coach wants to play a European…(only in the states)…you will see him go d1 and then come back or go to Europe

one day, in the next few years, i will meet a fine gal in a cafe while backpacking the swiss alps after completing my undergrad at Yale. I will sip my irish coffee-strong, for the morning air at the base of the Dufourspitze mountain is cold and has taken a toll on me. i stare across the cafe, peering over my newspaper and see her hair. a strawberry-blonde waterfall. i knew that moment i would have her, right here in this cafe, for my urges i could not control. she was divine.
we would travel together for the remainder of my journeys. we would return to my home in Canada and i would introduce her to my mother. they would talk over tea while i tell my father she is the women i would marry. and as i walk outside my home for a smoke and stare into the kitchen window, watching as my dearest wife-to-be laughed with my mom and pop, i couldnt help but picture our life together: a place in the lower west side of manhattan. return from the office to a hot meal, perhaps veal, maybe even a schnitzel. we would make two beatuful baby boys, twins.
and is this fantasy of mine, both my twin boy newborns are Stefan Nastic.
