Published by on October 5, 2011

Top 2012 guard Negus Webster -Chan will announce his college commitment this Friday.

The 6-foot-7 highly touted guard out of Scarborough, Ontario Canada been heavily recruited by numerous schools such as Louisville, which he gave a verbal commitment to late last year, Cincinnati, Florida State, West Virginia, Texas, Marquette, Clemson, Seton Hall, Missouri and Iowa State.

It is rumored that Missouri and Iowa State are atop of his list of schools interested. CROWN caught up with Webster-Chan in the days ahead of his announcement.

“I feel both of them are very similar to what I do, and they have been showing the most interest. In addition, I have visited both of the universities and got to know the head coaches a lot more and the players and the rest of the coaching staff,” said Webster-Chan as he commented on the two schools rumored to be leading the race.

Webster-Chan is currently attending Huntington Prep in Huntington, WV alongside other heavily recruited Canadians Andrew Wiggins, Tanveer Bhullar, Xavier Rathan-Mayes and Stefan Jankovic. He continues to develop with the powerhouse prep program and is looking to have a smooth transition entering the NCAA.

It’s without a doubt that wherever this explosive guard lands he shall be a fit for any high powered speedy offense. His decision this Friday may not be compared to Lebron’s decision, but has great meaning to the school that picks up this promising player.
